Millrace Timber Lagging Retaining Wall

Project Type:
Retaining Wall

Client:
City of Eugene
State of Oregon
US Army Corps of Engineers

Location:
Eugene, Oregon

Date:

Because we understand how soils and rock behave under a wide variety of loading and environmental conditions, we can tailor a retention system to meet the requirements of any site.   This recently-completed wall was constructed along the Eugene Millrace to protect the foundation system of an existing medical office complex.  The wall, consisting of steel soldier piles, treated timber lagging, and soil nail tie backs, was designed to minimize disturbance to the millrace channel and to be constructed with no restrictions to water flowing in the channel.

This project was permitted by the City of Eugene, State of Oregon Department of Lands, and US Army Corps of Engineers.
